Our Birthday Weekend!

This weekend was Landon Parker's 4th birthday, and my 28th. Brendan wasn't able to be here to celebrate with us because he's in Missouri for school. But Meagan came down from L.A., and my mom flew in from Maryland to spend the weekend with us, so we had a blast! We did some shopping, opened some presents, we all (including Landon) got pedicures, and just got to hang out. It was perfect! Mom and Dad sent some "Fall" out for me and Meag... since California stinks at providing seasonal weather. So we now have Autumn Yankee candles, blankets, wreaths, and towels to decorate our homes with instead! Here are some pics from the weekend, and a big Thank You to everyone for the birthday wishes and gifts!

Landon reading I Like Bugs!

Landon got this book from Gramma on our trip across the country. It's one of his favorites, and he can read it by himself now! He likes to read it to me and Brendan before he goes to sleep at night. ;)

Some pics of the New House...

It's still very much a work in progress, and there aren't pics of the bedrooms yet cause they still need a lot of work. But here are a few for now!

4th of July!!!

We didn't do much for the fourth... just hung out at home and played on the playground. It was very cloudy all day, and way to chilly for the beach. When it was time for fireworks we just walked out front and down towards the edge of the hill that overlooks the ocean, and we were able to see all of the fireworks that were going off at Delmar Beach. It was great.. no traffic!

Our New House!!!

So, we already have a house! Thank God!!! It was a much faster process this time than it was in North Carolina. Our house is really nice, and our furniture is coming on Tuesday the 6th... so we don't have too much longer without couches and beds. We have a playground that is literally in our front yard, and Landon loves it. When you walk out our front door and look to the right you can see the ocean off in the distance. I tried to get some pics of it, but it's kind of hard to see. I'll post again once we have furniture and I have our rooms set up.

Delmar Beach

Delmar Beach is the beach here on base. It's amazing! There are cottages that go all the way down the beach that can be rented for camping... and there are bonfires constantly burning. People park their RV's out there, and there are big pavillions for cookouts. It's really neat, out here there are summer camps just for surfing and you'll see about 20 kids at a time learning how to surf. Brendan is detemined to learn. I'll make sure I post pics. of that too! ;) It's very windy at the beach here, and the second the sun goes behind a could it's freezing! Landon doesn't seem to mind at all though. We stopped by on the way home from the aquarium, and he was soaked before we left. Lol.

Sea Life Aquarium, Legoland CA

We went to the aquarium which is part of Legoland, in Carlsbad CA, which is only about 10 minutes from us. It's a very cool little place, and all of the people and sculptures throughout the aquarium are made of lego's. At the end of the aquarium they had a spongebob squarepants that was made out of lego's... he of course was Landon's favorite!

More of the trip...

Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and finally California!!!

Sorry it's taken me a while to continue posting... we've been busy but we're finally in a house now out here in California so it's a little easier now. The only cool thing in Nevada was Las Vegas, which we drove right through. We drove through probably the worst part of Utah, and a little bit of Arizona. Even once we were in California it was still desert and ugly. And the temp kept rising... as we drove through the Mojave Desert we hit 109 degrees. No thank you. :) By the time we got to Oceanside the temp had dropped almost 30 degrees. Here are a few more pics from the trip.
